Spicy Braised Tofu (tofu tasted so good!)

Hey guys, we made this Korean spicy braised tofu recipe last night. Tofu tastes so good on its own! Click for recipe overview in video.

Spicy Braised Tofu ingredients (Serving size for 2):
  • Firm tofu (one package or ~300-400 grams )
  • Water (half a cup)
  • Soy Sauce (3 tablespoon)
  • Korean red chili flakes (1 tablespoon)
  • Sugar (2 teaspoon)
  • Minced garlic (1/2 tablespoon)
  • Sesame seeds (1/2 teaspoon)
  • Sesame oil (1/2 teaspoon)
  • Sliced spring onions (Half a stalk)
How do I make it? (Serving size for 2):
  • Cut tofu into quarter inch pieces and pat them dry with paper towels
  • Pan-fry the tofu until golden brown on both sides
  • Make braising sauce: Mix water, soy sauce, Korean red chili flakes, sugar, minced garlic, sesame seeds, sesame oil and sliced spring onions in a mixing bowl (save some spring onions for garnish)
  • Pour sauce into frying pan and stir it frequently until it reduces (approximately 5 minutes…watch short video for reference)
  • Stir in the fried tofu pieces and coat thoroughly
What else?
  • Tastes great cold or hot
  • Eat with a bowl of hot sticky rice
  • Don’t hate on tofu anymore!
